Hello LSM students and parents!

Welcome to my wellness page! Physical education and wellness has been a passion of mine since I was in high school myself. To be able to teach students about their bodies and how we, as human beings, can improve our health through movement, nutrition and personal well being is beyond exciting to me! I look forward to a great rest of the year with all of you so lets get ready to exercise and explore the world of wellness, together!

Fun facts about our bodies:

Did you know...

  • That it is IMPOSSIBLE to sneeze with your eyes open? (Try it, I dare you!)
  • That human bones ounce for ounce are stronger than steel?
  • That our heart pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood a day?
  • That the acid in out stomachs is strong enough to dissolve a razor blade?
  • That nerve impulses from our brain travel up to 170 miles per hour? (WOW!)
  • That for every pound of fat gained you also gain 7miles of new blood vessels? That our lungs laid out can cover the span of a tennis court

This class is very student oriented. Throughout this course I encourage my students to explore new exercises and try them with guided instruction! I encourage students to teach one another exercises that they may need help on and ask tons of questions! We learn new exercises one day of the week (short block) and explore new exercises on the internet and create our own workouts the next day (long block). Students are responsible for a change of clothes each day and paper/pencil on both regular and long block days.
