About Me

Teaching is a second career for me. I received my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from UConn in 1986. My early work experience included manufacturing automation, machine design and computer aided design. I worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, Associated Spring, Bristol, and also Ensign Bickford in Simsbury CT.

I began working in education by tutoring high school students in various math and science courses on a part time basis evenings and weekends. The requests for tutoring support grew to the point that several schools asked that I become a certified teacher. This led me back to school where I completed my teacher certification through the "ARC" (Alternate Route to Certification) program. I followed this with a masters degree in education technology also from UConn and additional graduate studies in a varitey of areas.

Prior to joining the Region 10 teaching staff I taught physical science, math and physics in the Granby Public School district in Granby CT.

My teaching practice brings the practical real world industrial experience into the classroom. Often students ask "When will I ever  use this stuff?" I love the question and most times I can provide an answer.

I am very excited to work with our students in Physics here at LSM!
