Health Room
Professional registered nurses staff the health room from 7:25 a.m. to 2:00 pm.

First aid will be administered for minor injuries received at school and in transit to and from school.


If an emergency occurs, the school nurse will determine if an ambulance is necessary. The student's parents will be notified as soon as possible.

Medications will be administered by the school nurse.  Connecticut state law requires a written order by an authorized prescriber and written authorization from the student's parent or guardian.

Immunization records are reviewed, maintained, and saved for 50 years in the health room.

Student Athletes:  completed School Health Form needed for a Blue Card or Red Card to be issued and signed by the School Nurse – physical forms stays with the school nurse and are valid for 13 months. Student will hand the coach a red or blue card in order to practice or play.

School health legislation requires that all sophomores have a complete physical exam within the time period of the end of their freshman year and the beginning of their junior year.  They will be unable to begin their junior year until the completed  School Health Form is on file in the school health room.
